Keep the drug where it is needed
ProteoThera’s platform fuses a validated therapeutic to a short matrix-binding peptide. The fusion binds proteoglycans in the tissue matrix, so the drug stays in the joint instead of leaving into systemic circulation.
The first programme
PRT-1000, for acute gout pain
A matrix-binding form of interleukin-1 receptor antagonist — a drug already approved systemically for rheumatoid arthritis — delivered locally where the flare is.
